Beating the "China Syndrome"- a.k.a. The LOCAL Holiday List

Hello There Folks,


  So, if you've been on our little site here, for the past few weeks, I've all but hammered it into your head about our new changes, ones that we hope benefit, enlighten, and entertain you.

This post is no different, but with a slightly different message. See, we like to put our money where our mouths are, and when we talk about supporting your local farmer, small business person, local crafts person or artisan, we mean it.

You might've noticed its a bit colder and crazier in the world, and while I have no personal solution to the grand economic and governmental issues that seem to be plaguing the world, I do have a small solution, but hopefully one with a big impact.

The holidays season is rolling around, one of the few times of year when the most money exchanges hands. If we REALLY talk the talk about BUYING LOCAL and SUPPORTING our fellow countrymen, then we SHOULD all pass up those multi-million, bix box corporations who are just set to rake in EVEN more money past their millions already. I call this breaking out of the "China Syndrome," as it is estimated a whopping 90% or American products now come from that country! And you wonder why we're having so many issues sustaining a livable wage and proper jobs in this country?

Folks, we're about supporting ethical small businesses, ones that support the OWNER of the business and his or her family, With each purchase to such businesses, You KNOW your money is going directly to that talented, hard working person, and you are buying local products...

So here's our deal: If you ARE, or you KNOW a business of that nature: a family farm, CSA, artist or artisan, crafter, or even a seller of LOCAL American machinery or products (such as a John Deere dealer) or authors/publishers who have books on farming PLEASE SEND US THAT INFORMATION BY NOVEMBER 23rd!

The name of the business and the owner(s)
The website name of the business or the phone number if no site exists
The STATE where the business hails from.

On November 23rd (before Thanksgiving) we'll put ALL the business, by STATE, onto a post, here, so you can BUY local from your neighbors and fellow countrymen!  And we'll redirect you to this post the DAY AFTER Thanksgiving! We like to call it our ANTI-BLACK FRIDAY...or, our LOCAL Holiday List!

So Send us information about your business or businesses you recommend! Whether you sell organic eggs/jam/livestock/hay rides/soap, milk or...make pottery/art/tool leather/or any other such notions, for the holidays, we hope to hear from you soon!
